Question

torque ?


First of all hi im new to this site and i need some help hopefully you guys can help me out here i have a 2000 v6 mustang and it has a rattleing soung coming from the rear of the engine i think its the torque converter ive tryed to find a good one for it but cant find one any ideas of where i can find one better than the stock one..

you might wanna make sure it's nothing else before you try replacing torque converter..

Make sure the torque converter bolts are tight.

I WAS READING SOME THINGS ABOUT THE TORQUE CONVERTER ONLINE AND IT SAID SOMETHING ABOUT RATTLEING WHEN BAD MINE DOES THAT ONLY WHEN IN GEAR NOT IN PARK OR NEUTRAL IT DOES IT WHEN IM GOING UP A HILL REALLY SLOW OR WHEN I PRESS THE BRAKES AND THE GAS AT THE SAME TIME

Converter is pretty simple to check. Put the front tires up on ramps and secure the e-brake. There is a dust cover where you can see the bolts. There is also an access panel mid ways up on the drivers side...this will reveal the bolts.

Start the car up and see if you can see or hear strange noises while under the car.

May not be the converter. Could be a loose exhaust clamp or something along those lines. Usually if the converter is going out the car will feel real slugish. The converter will also whine.

So When I Do This I Got To Put It In Gear Right But The Problem Is I Would Need To Push On The Gas Pedal Thats The Only Time It Does It Ill Probably Have To Ask Someone To Help Me Out Ill Probably End Up Making A Short Video Just To Show You How It Sounds Thx Alot
