my car doesn't want to start

For some reason when I turn the key I get nothing...the radio and what not work...so I locked the doors with the remote and now when I tried to unlock it...the little knob would start to come up then stop like the car wouldn't let it. So I used the key to unlock the door and the theft light kept flashing really fast and making a clicking noise...what is going on...any ideas

When I looked through my owners manual for my 06, I remember reading about an issue like this that has something to do with electrical (possibly). Review you rmanual and it should explain it. I'm at work otherwise I'd grab mine.

Also, how old is your battery??? Over 3 years it might be time for a new one...check the cable connections to the bat. are they clean and tight? A good auto parts store can test the bat. and tell ya if its good or not, including the alt.

Good luck

alarm

the click is just a sound the car makes when the alarm system comes on and if all your eaccesories have power it doesnt mean your alternators not bad it takes more power to start the car then it does to turn on radio, try putting a charger on it or jumpstarting it if it still doesnt work then your battery is not able to hold charge but i dont think its the battery, try jumping it if that doesnt work then tell me ill look it up in the haynes manuel

battery seems fien if your radio is working and what not.. are your lights dim or anything goofy? personally sounds like the anti-theft thing is broken.

another thing it could be is this:

The keys are equipped with chips in them. If your chip went faulty, it wont allow the car to start, and the "theft" light will blink very fast. your radio will work and such, but you just can't start the car.
