so im thinking about getting

a remote start/ alarm system for my02.
im a bit cautious as to the fact that ill have to have the clutch bypassed, and unfortunatly this would be the first mod not done by me, but it still seems like a good investment for the security and the remote start seems like a good idea for those cold mornings. i saw some on ebay for between 75- 120, and i have a mechanic thatll do the install for free.

any suggestions on good systems and sites to find some?
im lookin to spend about 300 tops for the system, just so u guys no the buget.

i was in your same spot ... if you do really wanna get it .. Viper Alarm Remote Start System 791xv is the best out there ... going for little bit more then 200
but what i had a problem with was the freakin installation fee's ... its 400+ anyways if you really want it prepare for over 600-800 for the remote to be working . the comments i got where "dont waste time with that just get some bolts on " anyways its up to you man

the clutch is tricky you have to get a bypass system... i don't know where from and you can't leave it in gear if you plan on using it cuz then it will just start rolling away...

so yea mos def look around

I got the snossage system its a new development. Its almost the same as viper but you can control your radio-heat-ac-defrost- and windows from the remote. But the snossage system will run you just about 300

you dont need any "bypass system". you simply pull off the connector on the clutch pedal that detects when its depressed and then jump the two wires with a scotch lock to permanently make the car think the clutch is depressed.

I have the viper791xv and its awesome!
right now i have it set up too

-remote trunk pop
-remote lock and unlock doors
-remote headlights
-remote foglights
-remote stereo on or off
-remote start

i saved tons of money on it cause a friend of mine basically installed it for me for $120. i helped a little but it was mostly him lol

I had a viper put in for cheap by a friend. Only the autos i can do it myself, or did.

On the manual though, you have to trick the car into thinking the clutch is depressed.
