(its bone stock)

-- His brother has a 96/97 GT
(its also bone stock)

-- Both cars are Auto
He wants to surprise him when he gets back and > him with the v6.

Should be able to take a non-PI Gt, don't you think?

That can do it, but some better springs would be good too for better weight transfer.

honestly i hate those GT's the deffinition of a slow v8 and sad v8 is those pre 99 GTs, the sn95s
i raced a 97 GT, wires, shorties, exhaust, cam, intake and i think thats it...guy tells me hes not changing the heads that there fine...looked at him and said,...your a fuckin idiot...then walked away lol, i raced him and won, but he must have stalled or some shit,...his 60foot was a sad 3.5 and 14 seconds in the 1/8 or 13...it was still slow

stock vs stock i think its a drivers race...but both are auto...if he gets just gears and t-lok i think the v6 will win

actually all you would need... well your friend is the gears and posi... that should be even enough and a tune... then the others when money is available...

thats the route im going to take... my next mod is going to be a short throw cuz i hate my shifter then gears...

i can take stock sn95 gt's ive only raced 2. but won both. the win was by a hair but i still came out in front.

Well a stock v6 with a good driver can turn out a high 15 I suppose. A sn95 gt with a good drive is high 14's. So stock for stock theres no chance but in your case you might have it.

the sn95 gt's are more of a low 15 car with a normal driver, and a good driver in a v6 can pull a 15.5 I have beaten quite a few pre 99 gt's
