cheap power mods for 95 V6

Hi guys, i have a 95 V6 stang, and would like a little more power out of it.. i flip burgers for a living so i cant afford a new engine or anything. Heres what i have in it now, it came with this.

straight through cat back exhaust using flowmaster 40's
MAC headers
MAC cold air induction

My service engine light is on, the throttle response is HORRIBLE between stop and 55mph... after it shifts out past 55mph it runs like a mustang... Im told its the MAF sensor, our ford dealer wants 50$ just to put it on the computer and test all the sensors. It worth it? Is there anything cheaper that i could do to get it running right? I took it to our local Advanced Auto Parts and they ran a lil systems check using their computer, and it said " bank 1 " and " bank 2 " is running lean. Im gonna guess that the system didnt readjust enough for the extra air in and out.

I got another question. Our local muffler shop can possibly move my exhaust to in front of the rear wheels, i cant afford the bassani kit or anything like that... would it hurt to move the tips in front of the rear tires, would it give me any advantages? I would have to get different tips, i got 14 inch long by 4 inch tips on it now, and it sounds good. While they were moving the exhaust i was gonna have them fabricate in a H pipe... will both of these mods get me much power advantage or will it just cost me money and make it sound horrible?

One last thing, then ill stop pestervatin yall. I see " chips " on the internet for like 25 and 30$ that give you from 20 extra HP... one in particular gives you 45 hp, and some everywhere in between. Are these a hoax or do they really work? Thanks for puttin up with me. Looking forward for feedback.

Those chips do nothing. Get a good tune.

Make an H pipe...so you have shorty headers

I guess i have shorty headers, i am not able to get under the car.

Would an H pipe and moving the exhaust up in front of the tires make it sound better and run better or what?

mods

well H-pipe headers(longtube if you dont plan on turbo) shortubes are better then stock manifold then the h-pipe flowtubes from MAC and then flow 40s then a cold air intake, MAF sensore upgrade and a throttle body and get the intake manifold ported and get it tuned, get some better spack plugs spark plug wires ignition system get an 8.8 rear with 3.73s and 4.10s a short throw shifter if your manuel ask GF about the upgrades for the automatic tranny if you have one, get a sweet cam then heads, forged internals and a turbo/supercharger c above and you'll have one of the gnarliest v6s around might have missed a few things but with all that ud have a sweet as v6, get it bored and strocked alot of that cost money and lots of it but horspower=money theres no realy way around it

I actually just did a bit of a search for some and i'm seeing some that seem to be only a single pipe-looking piece, and some that are kits with a bunch of little pieces...i'm guessing I would need a kit? they go from like 50-300 bucks though... I mean like a kit with a bunch of stuff for about 60 bucks, but then I'm also seeing just a single piece for about 300...and they're all called cold air intake, whats up with that?
