Mustang brothers I need help

All right this is my short story. I got clowned alot for having a 2003 V6 Mustang (automatic). My car was even called a girl mustang because it is a V6. A co-worker of mine even called it a Mustank and farted in it lol ! I remember seeing this Magazine with a V6 Mustang with 500HP convertible. I believe the year was a 99. So basically I want it to push that much power without NOS/Nitrous. I am new to the engine thing so if you can give me advise without the slang words of whatever I need for my car please that would be great. Because what you tell me here I am going to tell the Mechanic the same thing (even though he may know what the slang words are). If you can give me a list of options I would need and do to my car that would be great. At the time when I purchased the car I didnt know how to drive a stick shift and now I do. So since I regret not getting a stick shift I wanted to know also if it is possible to get paddle shifters on my steering wheel like the new cars got. That way I dont have to get a whole new transmission and I would have both.

Paddle shifters unless your in an F1 car aren't nearly responsive enough...

Moving on
-----------

www.supersixmotorsports.com
Your gonna want their 4.2L Engine / 4.3 Long rod stroker motor

WITH

www.tmaturbo.com
Your gonna want either a Single Kit with a big turbo, or a Twin Turbo Kit

OR

www.procharger.com
Your going to want the biggest s/c they have for a v6 mustang

OR

www.vortechsuperchargers.com
Your Also going to want the biggest s/c they have for a v6 mustang & an inter cooler from www.autobadges.com

BIG THIN: YOU WILL HAVE TO HAVE A DYNO TUNE PERIOD.
Small Things: SCT tuner, Exhaust, 8.8 Rear End, bigger injectors, better fuel pump(s).

Also: Make sure you tell supersix that your gonna do xxx turbo setup or xxx s/c setup so they can spec your cam for it...

And a good idea would be to pick one of their sheet metal intakes.....

Hey Christone. Welcome to MM.

Ok, first of all, you will never get your stock V6 engine to that power unless you install nitrous and a turbo/supercharger (and even then you probably won't reach your power goals) which will probably damage your engine as it is not built to handle that kind of force. Now you can of course upgrade your engine with parts that are built for power, but its much better (and costs about the same in the end) to buy a new/rebuilt engine that is tuned and made for more horsepower and torque. Barring that, several members here know of other things like Stroker Kits, but I don't personally know where to find them (try PMing GreenFaleen or itschristorres8, they seem to be able to find most anything).

After deciding what engine to buy, you'll want to prep your car for the engine swap. That means swapping your stock rear axle assembly (the 7.5'' your car comes with stock won't be able to handle more than about 350 horsepower) with an 8.8'' assembly. You can find these online or in a Mustang GT years 1999-2004 you can find in a salvage yard. You will need these because they are built to handle more power and they also come standard with posi-traction (also called t-lok). You'll also want to change your gears at that point (4.10:1 and 3.73:1 are the most common choices, 4.10 usually for autos and 3.73 usually for sticks). The higher the gear ratio, the better your acceleration will be, although your top speed and gas mileage will be affected more. You'll probably lose about 1-2 mpg with the 4.10:1 ratio.

Beyond that, you'll want to upgrade you're braking and suspension. No use in going fast if you can't do it safely.

Add full bolt-ons to the list (Cold Air Intake, Underdrive Pulleys, Headers [short tube if you're planning on installing a turbo, long tube if not], Coil Pack and Wires, Dual Exhaust, and a Tuner) and you'll be set for anything.

The only other things I can think of would be a turbo/supercharger (s/c) setup or nitrous.

There are other things to be done such as Power Paks and Forged Internals but most of the things they do will be taken care of if you buy the right engine.

This thread explains most everything you'll need and where you'll find them.

If I've forgotten anything I'm sure someone will either correct me or add things to the list.

You do not want to get the stroker engine from Supersixmotorsports.com. They overcharge by about $2,500.00 I got my 4.2 fromhttp://www.precisionengine.com/rebuilt-engines/ford-crate-engines/index.html

I only paid about 2,500 for it. they are only pushing 250 hp stock, but you have so much more room to play now. HAVE FU!

well the one from precision will have to be tweaked for compression issues.

As for paddle shifts get a shift kit and make it both a manual and an auto
http://www.moddedmustangs.com/forums...s-vt15137.html

also you don't need a new engine really. Get a powerpak, forged internals, and cam from
www.supersixmotorsports.com

then get a nice turbo from
www.tmaturbo.com

and get a nice tune you will be set

also for the paddle shifters you will be urning 3k dollar clutches like they are nothing driving around town.

4.2L, sick cam, new heads, intercooled twinturbo, shift kit and all that stuff, 8.8 or 9 inch rear swap, 4.10 gears is a damn good start, bigger injectors bigger fuel pump maybe dual fuel pumps cobra fuel tank, thinker meats(tires) turbo manifold full exhaust better ignition system spark plugs spark plug wires and you'll have a damn good go at high horespower and a wicked v6 hope you have alot of money, for that cash you oculd have a good down payment on a terminator

So true but I am very close to paying this one off. I figure I can build off of what I got already. What about droping a Ford Lighting 514 Stroker (460) Crate ENgine with 525 horsepower and 520 ft-lbs of torque in? Is that better than the Terminator's engine? Or not?

The only problem with that is to swap A Lightning motor or anything other than something that came stock in the car is a PITA.

Just swapping a 4.6L 2v is enought trouble itself engine+about 1-2.5k in parts + whatever labor....

And it just gets more expensive as you go.

AND YOU DO NOT NEED HEADERS IF YOUR Getting a TMA TURBO, PERIOD.

kk someone told you wrong... you wont need both power adders... if you do foreced induction on a ... wait wait ... i should read the whole post...oops never mind

uhh i agree with most of the other things said a 4.2L or even a 5.0 might be an idea... you could find a salvaged 5.0 and rebuild it and remachine it too... that could possibly get you in the 3's or 4's for horse power on an all motor or nitrious only application... in my opinion your ganna need a new engine and in that situation it might even be wise to just get a GT unless your attached to yous sixer
