The dreadful drip...

Ok so since ive been a member here ive read about this several times on here. Something is dripping on the passenger side and when i turn the car off and get out and listen, i hear it dropping on to something and sizzling. If i remember correctly our stangs are notorious for this and its dripping on the exhaust manifold. So my question is whats dripping? and is it an easy fix?

Is that just from your AC condensor? If so it's normal.

So is there no way to stop it? Wont this cause the exhaust manifold to leak?

Don't use the A/C

Not sure if it will cause the manifold to crack though

Is it anti freeze? My heater core broke and my friend showed me this little hole/plug right above the passenger side manifold that leaks coolant if heater core is broken. It started leaking onto my headers and yes, when I turned the car off I could hear it drip onto the header, then sizzle and burn up from how hot the headers get. Do you know where the two coolant lines are that bring coolant into and out of the heater core?

Here's a picture. See the two bare pipes sticking out of the firewall right above the passneger side PCV, those are the coolant lines for the core. Of course your's will still have the rubber hoses attatched to them. Scan the firewall down towards the ground until you see a little whole with like a black grommet sort of thing in it. Once you know where it is look again after you let the car run for a little bit, turn it off and if it is a broken heater core you should see coolant dripping out of this hole. I disconnected the hoses and bypassed the heater core all together to temporarily fixed the problem, but I will have to get it fixed before winter because right now I have no heat.

Make sense, or am I just babbling?

it is the AC, unless it is an unrelated problem as you said to do with your coolant. you can re rout the tubes i think and it wont drip onto the manifold, it WILL cause it to crack.

it is just the ac condensation. a lot of people will build a shield that lets the condensation go around the exhaust instead of directly on it. yes the dripping over time can mess up your exhaust so if you can, try to do something about it.

Just get some tubing from your hardware store, and run it away from the headers. Eventually it will cause a crack

I never had a problem like this, guess I'm lucky. That I don't use my ac too often.
