New exhaust plan, let me know what you think

so I'm going to get the summit universal H (2.25 in)

Summit Racing SUM-642022 - Summit Racing® Balance Tube Kits - Overview - SummitRacing.com

and some thrush welds

Thrush 17655 - Thrush Welded Mufflers - Overview - SummitRacing.com

then get some pipe to do side exit, weld it up, cut off the ends of the Y then use exhaust clamps to clamp the H into the cut off Y

probably get some aluminum sheet to cut and weld into rectangles for the tips i think.

let me know what you guys think

It will definitively save money over going to an exhaust shop and paying for flow-masters and a custom setup. I'm interested with how the mufflers will sound when it's done, never heard them on a sixxer before

I'm honestly not sure if that universal kit will work on your car...I'm pretty sure the H pipe isn't straight, there is a bend in it

If he is good with a welder and exhaust fabbing then I'm sure he can pull it off, pipes are pipes

Yeah. I just didn't want him to be under the impression that it will go on easy. I'm almost positive the pipes in the H are bent out alittle before they go into the tail pipes.

have you noticed any internal resonance from the thrush's? just curious because thats why I'm ditching the glass pack, It was a cheap temporary fix but now I'd like to be able to drive to work without my head feeling like its going to explode

I'm looking for something rather cheap. I know it won't sound NEARLY as good as if I went all the way through with this and really did it right. But its not super important to me and I'm just looking for a little more rumble.

buy 2...yes 2 thrush welded mufflers from any autoparts store for around $35-40 each...go to a shop and tell them cut off your exhaust after the cats...have them add tubing to were the mufflers are supposed to sit in the recess under the car...then have them add a turndown at an angle toward the side skirts....this setup is extremely cheap...will give you the sound you want, and will be a proper true dual setup at the same time....i've run this setup a few times

Thank you so much! thats exactly what I want. I looove the sound of the thrush welded mufflers but wasn't sure how to get two on there without spending a lot of money. Would I need to get a whole new bumper to make room for the other pipe? And do you have any guess what this would cost?
