new brakes :)

never thought id be so excited over a brake job lol. replaced a rear caliper and did 4 drilled and slotted rotors with 2 sets of ceramic pads off ebay for 162 bucks shipped and everything. figured cant go wrong and give them a shot and if they burn out in a few months then w/e. cant really go wrong id figure as long as they stop and dont warp or anything like that. a guy i work with got the same ones for his truck and has no problem and likes them. thought id share the experience. ill let you guys know how well they work incase anyone is looking to get brakes done in the future. heres what they look like incase anyone cares lol......

Looks good bro. What company did you get the rotors from? If it was a company called brakemasters or something then they're probably not zinc coated so keep them out of the rain for as long as possible. I loved my drilled and slotted rotors until I went out on a rainy night, looked at them the next day, and they were brown

Check the auction and see if they mention zinc coated. If they are then they should hold up for quite a while in the rain without rusting. If I was keeping my car I could sand the rust off and paint the areas that rust

Kick ass! That's a good price for them. Mine were $130 for non-zinc coated.

Hell yeah. By the way, good choice with ceramic pads. I decided to give semi-metallics a shot because they brake well when they're cold were as ceramics need to warm up before they grip the best they can. Let's just say the brake dust isn't worth it

Hah,tell me about it. Half the reason I'm selling my car is to get into one that won't be breaking so much shit I've been looking at Cobras and Mach 1s with under 50k miles.

So how hard were the calipers to replace? I need to replace my fronts but I'm hoping to sell it before I truly have to. The brake lines look like a pita to get off the calipers unless I'm over-thinking it and that square piece isn't a bitch to get out

damn lol im jealous. i want a cobra so bad. even a GT would be nice haha. the calipers are a piece of cake. my lines came off easily. the only issue i had was having to torch the bracket bolts but you wont have to if your only doing the caliper. its just annoying doing one every other month.

Well if you had that car from day 1 then I wouldnt think it would be breaking just because you would be doing all the maintenance when needed and not neglecting your car.

ceramic. like mcqueen said though, they take a little longer to stop because they need to heat up a bit to grab best but they arnt bad at all dont get me wrong. they arnt real soft like semi-metallic and leave dust everywhere though.

Nice look good. Just did mine too, got a set of lightly used rotors cross drilled put on new Hawk ceramics and did both fronts and a rear caliper. Pita and expensive day.

Hockey any noise from your rotors mine make a humming when I brake hard from the air pushing through, just wondering if yours did too.

not that ive noticed no. thats wierd though... are you sure its because of the air or maybe the pads themselves are making that noise. ceramic pads do tend to do that because they need to heat up a bit before they really grab.
