ours are electronically timed as far as I know. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you can use the xcal, or livewire, or any other tuner like that do to so.

The timing is computer controled. You will need a tuner, chip, or software package. The days of turning the distributor and changing centri weights are gone.

With xcal2's, don't you have to get them already programmed? I have a spyder tuner and I can change those things right from the software that loads onto the laptop. Of course I know you can totally screw up your car if you don't know what you're doing. That's why I went with octane rating presets. I was just curious...

you get a canned tune, but you can change everything with your laptop and there are also things you can alter like fan speed and shift points on the handheld itself while your tuning with a SCT.
