new mods

alright well im about to do some more mods and need a little help from my felloe sixers. well i was wanting to do 4:10 gears with the ford racing speedo recab tool ( reset my speedo) but im not sure if it will reach its full potential without a t-lok. i dont have money to do gears, a t-lok, tuner or recab tool, and install so i would have to leave out the t-lok so would it be worth it without one? some other things i was thinking about was a sct tuner while running 93 octane. anyway not doing them now but need suggestions now before i get into. anyway what do you think and any suggestion? btw not doing a windstar. and its late si will get back to this thread tomorrow. thanks..

Wait until you can do gears and a t-lok at the same time.

Paying double for labor isn't fun! After a quick search you can find t-loks new for around $160 shipped.

Wait for gears and TLOK at the same time... Tuner is FAR superior to the Recalibrator.

well alright well it makes me want to save a little more for a t-lok hearing this but with the gears, a t-lok, and tuner what are the gains like? in terms of accerleration and overall performance and 0-60 lets say?

Well as far as gains go, the gears will be one of the most significant gains in accel that you can get for cheap. The tuner really also helps out an auto. It firms up the shifts and allows you to adjust the shift points. I would say for an auto those two along with a windstar would be the two most significant mods as far as performance gains with minimal work.

or you could look around your local classifieds for a 8.8 with the gears you want, i found one for $225 with 4.10's. I looked for about 4 months but it was worth the wait as the savings are significant.

Yes, like was said before... wait on the gears... AM has gears, oil, and a tuner combo that really saves money!

50 shot of nitrous

IMO a 50 shot will give you some go, just enough to make you want more but you don't need to re-tune for a 50 shot. It's smart to get a tuner and maybe back out 1* of timing but it's not neccessary (IN MY OPINION) for something as small as a 50 shot. Just go to NGK TR6 plugs and you won't detonate. Plus it will really make you wanna save your money for bigger and better

HAS TO BE A WET SHOT. Dry shots require a tuner to add in the additional fuel. Wet shots do it automatically so all you need to do it go to a colder plug, NGK TR6 is what I run all day, on and off the spray.

Additionally, I spray my car probably a full bottle every two weeks. 140,000 miles. She purrs.

and it says 4:10 frpp gears- "8.8". so will those gears on the tuner combo ( sct, 4:10, and gear oil) work with my 7.5 end?

Well you want them both... But if you want one before the other, its obvious to get the tuner... Without the tuner, the gears won't work like they are supposed to.

That makes absolutely no sense...

Nothing in the computer is going to stop rear end gearing from operating properly.

Read post 18... The speedo would be off and I believe the shift points would be off so therefore the gears wouldn't be operating like they were meant to be used... Thank you, once again, your wrong!
