Exhaust Leak

I have an exhaust leak in my mustang, and it is causing a ticking noise when i start up the car, it goes away after the engine warms up though.

I don't really know much about cars so what are your guy's input on how to fix this issue?

If it's an exhaust leak get it welded.

Which side of the engine? Drivers side it is most likely one of the welds to the main pipe on the manifold. Pass. and it is most likely the flange on the manifold. If you are just looking to get it fixed, take it to an exhaust shop and they can weld it up.

Alright thanks.

Do you know how much it would cause to get it fix?

Probably no more than $30 or $40 for a weld if thats all it is

If its in a very convienant place and open and visible to the point where the shop wouldnt need to do anything but do a quick weld. I have found a couple places to do it for free.

I had a very small crack on my drivers side manifold, didn't cause the sound of an exhaust leak but me knowing it was there bothered me. So I brought my car to a local Meineke and asked how much, he pulled my car into a garage bay to inspect it better, and just grabbed his welder (was already setup for another job he was doing) and did one very quick weld and said have a nice day lol.

My exhaust looks pretty old and rusty anyways, I'm thinking about getting it completely replaced with a new one.

Can someone point me into the right directions on which kind of exhaust to get, and how much it would cost to get it placed in.

I like the dual exhaust look.

Thanks again guys.

like emissions checks. Obviously not though. I would say get long tubes, go catless with an x-pipe, and 40s or similar two chamber mufflers. You choice to dump it the or get tail pipes.

well, do you have a tuner? And you would need to take it to a shop, unless you can weld. If you can weld, you would just need to buy some 2.5" pipe. If you don't have a tuner, you will need to buy MIL eliminators, and you can't run mac LTs as they have no EGR hookups. But I would suggest you buy a tuner, then buy all the exhaust stuff. A shop can make you an X pipe.

Here is a link for the mufflers, and three pairs of long tubes.

Mufflers
with EGR
Without EGR
Mac LTs

You would have to have your exhaust welded to the headers.

Find an exhaust shop and ask. Prolly about 40 bucks. And it will flow better than stock, but without the right mufflers, it will not sound good.

they can order them, but that would be dumb. Buy your own online, and put them on yourself. Labor for a shop to put them on is outrageous..
