A/C Drip control

I have heard of a few people making a 'shield' to keep the water from the A/C off of the headers. Anyone have pics of what they did and how they did, and with what materials?

I am assuming they just used some thin sheetmetal and put it in place. What is the big deal if water gets on them? My exhaust tips are stainless, and I have had them two yrs and I drive through rain, snow, and the salt from the roads and they are not rusty at all. I just take the time to clean them every week or so with a rag.

A/C condinsation drips onto them and cracks them causes the annoying ticking sound of exhaust leaking.

I was about to say the same thing, it only cracks at/in the flange of the manifold. It doesnt crack the manifold itself. I had the same issue (exhaust leak because of a/c) and when the guy took my manifold off I told him I wanted to look at it, and it wasnt cracked at all. It was the flange and the welds around there that got messed up.

Mine hits the midpipe too. Mine cracked twice on the midpipe right before the first cat.

I have never had any problems with my stockers cracking, at least not to my knowledge. But ask 99 blue, if he made one, I am sure he would be more than willing to give you all the info.

I took mine off to get welded the first week or so after i bought my car. Looked like a clean cut with a buzzsaw. Water can do tons of shit to your headers for certain .

Well look on the bright side for the water drips, it gives u excuses to upgrade to aftermarket headers. And for the splatter shield you could make an aluminum bracket that would bend and fit over the top of the headers.
