Question

Ignition switch problem??


ok i got a used ignition switch with the key today from a used v6 mustang because half the key broke off in my i could stills tart my car. i put the one i just got in the car and now my car wont start. it cranks and all the elctronics work but it wont start, the theft light blinks too. is there some type of procedure i have to do for this ignition switch to work, i thought i just had to plug this one in and walaaa.

the computer needs to be programed to the new key. PATS is cutting the fuel to your car thats why it turns over but wont start.

how do i program it to the new ignition switch? or is that something a dealership has to do

i put the old one in and its all good, anything i can do to get the new one to work?
