Help!

I'm riding in my car an hour ago, all of a sudden it sounds like I'm dragging something under my car.
I check and notice that I am not dragging anything.
It sounds horrible and I dont know what it is.
I can drive the car but I can feel it in my shifter.
My car is a maunual 96
It starts to go real crazy in 3rd gear the shifter shakes but still shifts
Is my transmission bad?
I just bought this car about a month ago and its the first one I paid for with my money.
I hope my transmission isnt bad
Because I can't afford another one.
Please help
Thanks

Absolutely nothing,
All I did was shift into 1st from a stop
and then it went crazy.
It sounds like king kong is about to come out from under my shifter and center console.

The car doesn't jerk it just sounds like metal is hitting metal

at first I thought my exhaust dropped to the ground or my bumper fell off and was under my car
but then I could feel it in my shifter

throwout bearing would need the transmissions little cover removed and you can see it partially. driveshaft/u joints would just be play at connectors at either end of shaft.

Would these be easy for me to fix or would I need to professionally install it?

Damn, that's awesome,
I won't lie though I miss that thing.
I use to drive it like it was a racecar, and act like it was the best thing on the road
and it can handle the abuse
Except on those models the waterpump, thermostat and the door handles seem to break first and easily

Eh, i miss it more or less, my mom drives it now lol. The radiator on the thing goes bone dry every 2 days, have to spend a good 10 minutes filling it up. Not what i really wanted to be doing when i needed to get somewhere. The mustang was actually my 2nd car (suburban was my parents). First car was a 94' Z28 Camaro, bought it for 500$ in almost perfect condition (tranny was out) Coming back into town it fell off my trailor. So pissed that that happened. But still got a good 900$ out of it after it bit the dust.
