just joined need a little help

ive had my stang for about 2 years now, and from the second i picked it up ive been looking to put performance parts onto my engine to give my 2000 v-6 pony a little steriod boost. im also trying to figure out how much horsepower i am currently pumping and how i could get more with out superchargers or turbos or completely gutting my engine. i already have daul exhaust, cold air intake, a mac performace racing chip, and as of today i threw an 80 shot of nos into it. im tryin to figure out how much horsepower im running , and how i could improve the horsepower with out over doin it. im a college student whos a racer, i was thinking of new headers but i just wanted to hear what people have to say, college student= no money for pricey parts.

what year do you have if its 99-04 you have ~156rwhp stock
get longtube headers. positraction(t-lok) and gears of your choice, usually 3.73 or 4.10.

156rwhp stock? how you manage that.. you know every car differs so yeah.. and last 3 dynos i looked at 5-speeds made 160-170.. but yeah.

you can do full-bolt ons and a 4.2 crankshaft from a ford f-150 and put down like 200-240hp pending; high torque numbers tho

with your mods.. add 75 hp(n2o), 2hp(CAI), 5hp(Exhaust), and 10hp(tune) to 160 thats a rough estimate of how much horsepower you have.. and i wouldnt want all that nitrous without a fuel system upgrade.. it will be fine for now tho, and without a t-lok i bet you spin the tires everytime you spray no matter what gear your in lol

gears + t-lok = -0.5 seconds off your 1/4 time = very nice

id like to see a stock v6(99-04) dyno 170RWHP. 160 is plausible but not 170. did you not see my ~ before the 156. they come stock with 190BHP with a 10-15% drivetrain loss on standards and autos, respectively.

Isn't it true that the 4.10 gears on an auto will /pwn my gas mileage? That's really the only reason why I'm going to get 3.73's

There is only a 2 mpg difference between 4.10s and 3.73s.

some say that the difference is so small in gas and that the differece in shortness of gears is so small that it doesn't matter enough and just get the 4.10's anyways...

ima get the 4.10's cuz i don't drive on the highway as much and i perfer the rapid acceleration ...

and well ~
