trying to put a 89 5.0 into my 1995 v6, and need some help!!

i have a 1995 v6 automatic, i bought a high hp motor and 5 spd trans from a 1989 mustang. i have the complete engine harness and computer out of the 89. what would be the best and easiest way to do the swap?? i was thinking about using a painless wiring kit, but i was told that if i found a harness and computer from a 94 or 95 gt, that it would be much easier. but i was told by another person that i would need to change something with the distributor and the fuel rail!! please, i need all the help you guys can give me. i also want to keep my stock gauges functional.i'm trying to get the car ready for the spring, and i'm confused!!!

Have you ever done any engine swap before? I don't know, but you'll probably need new mounts for the Windsor.

it should be an easy swap if you have one of the early 95's.
And who mentioned a windsor?

Didn't they still have the Windsor 302 in '89 GTs?

I've never heard of a Windsor 302, 351 Windsor but not a 302

The Windsor 302 was the most famous "5.0" Mustang, and the primary Ford V8 from I think '79 to the late '90s. My E150 van had a Windsor 302, and most of the Fox Mustang 5.0s were Windsors, but I don't know exactly how long they were in use.

Hmm after looking at it I only see them in up to the 84's when they changed headlight design and a few other things.

Yeah, like I said, I don't know how long they were in the Mustangs, but I know they were still in production in the mid-90s, because that is what was in my van.

nice to learn things. Thanks for enlightening me. But as for the mounts he would be fine since the 351w is a direct drop in for any of the 302 available stangs.

Your gonna need
1) New Rear End
2) New gage cluster (stock one might work)
3) IF your going from auto to 5speed - alot more work

What motor did you get, and how much hp?
