high idle and throttle problems

hi im new to this but im having problems with my 01 mustang. whenever i turn on my car it idles at about 2500 rpm and it stays there even if my car has been warmed up for a while. also when i accelerate and push the clutch in to shift the rpms stay real hjigh and wont come down.. the only way i can bring the rpms down is by downshifting and keeping it in gear until i have almost came to a complete stop and then push the clutch in . some friends have told me it might be the idle control valve but im not too sure just wanted a second opinion .thanks for taking the time for reading this

It just takes an allen wrench i'm pretty sure. Can't remember. If it's something your worried about doing yourself, bring it somewhere to do it. No shame in not doing something your a little nervous to tackle. It's something I havn't done, so I'm not too sure about which way to turn it myself. But someone will pipe up with the answer.
