Are you going by youtube vids or in person....I ill agree 100% with that they do sound raspy both in person and on youtube but only when combined with an x pipe but in person. I think there not too bad I mean in retrospect id would of like to of tried flow 44/ h pipe but flow 40 for some reason I think is a bit loud but has no tone I had flow 40 orginal series on my car way be4 and it well was ....eh.....but back to the flow super 44s I hrd them ona 02 stang right after I got my set up and it was epic.

Little off topic, but demon54, how does your exhaust setup sound, I'm pretty sure thats the set up I'm aiming for.

Affects both HP and torque... Now if you take the cats off I dont think you would have a huge problem with backpressure as long as you have chambered mufflers or you could even go with a on road midpipe

again thats w/o mufflers or cats. dropping the cats and leaving the mufflers won't be a problem

I know but it shows that backpressure can be a big factor in the performance of your car

i think that was in your head. because we had to drive my friends 02 v6 w/ open LTs from his house for about 10miles to an exhaust shop to do a new setup, and no issue from him. Just a loud car. Especially w/ the comp cam

Heres my setup:

It's GT takeoffs, custom H-pipe, no cats, stock headers. Again, quality isn't the best for sound, but it's all I have. Oh, and a cam.
