get long tube headers, then buy an H or x pipe and fab it up to the long tubes, then get a set of mufflers and tail pipes. I would do 2.5 in piping.
For mufflers everyone has a different opinion, some people like magnaflow, or flowmaster, I personally like thrush welds, listen on youtube for what you like best.

Not magnaflow ... no.
Flows or thrush. Definitely long tube headers, your choice as for brand is basically MAC. You can actually skip a midpipe alltogether, as the engine is even firing, this is where it also comes to a preference of sound. I plan to get the LT's with a MAC prochamber and Flow 40's and 3.5" tips. As plak said, search on this forum and youtube for sound clips, there's a ton of them, and try to get a rough idea of what set up you like best, then come back and ask about those particular set ups. Hearing them in person is so much better but not always possible.

Trash the cats if you don't need to pass inspection.

Idk if you want to lose the cats, I've heard you lose a lot of back pressure that way, which leads to losing torque. I didn't gut the cats but I've had a straight through muffler before and it made a big difference.

^misinformation^ losing the cats might lose back-pressure. Back-pressure is an enemy. You will run into problems when you slow down the air coming out of the exhaust (too big of pipes).

True^ based on the other post, he says he wants a turbo, Long tube headers would be a waste of time and money.

ik ik ik ik SLP are striaght threw mufflers but i dont see why no one conciters them. i understand flows are the general choice and i can also agree to that, they are pretty epic sounding but the reason i think why no one suggest SLP is cuz every set i see ppl voting no on is becaust they are runing a x pipe vs the h pipe tht i have set up with my set i got vids to prove tht the h pipe makes all the difference....
but again a agree 100% with the flows and NO magnaflow

that is loss of backpressure, loss of back pressure leads to loss of exhaust velocity, which leads to loss of torque.

listen...you won't loose enough back pressure to even matter as long as you have a good muffler on your car. enjoy that tid-bit of info

strait through mufflers do mean less back pressure and some torque loss but you will gain hp in the high end..
