MAF and other q's


what is a MAF system and what exactly does it do?
what is a throttle body and what does it do?

MAF is your air meter and it in conjunction with other components regulated your air/fuel mixture.

The throttle body is the valving system that responds to your accelerator pedal allowing or restricting air flow into the intake manifold.

ok thanks. so the bigger the throttle body the more air that goes in but what about the maf is it possible to buy a bigger maf or no

no u can buy a recalibrate maf but thats only needed for heavily modded engines... and the bigger Throttle body is a miss conception because if your intake is not ported to match it will do absolutely nothing except dent your wallet.

well im savin up to buy a 4.3 and powerpak from supersix i dont know if i should just get everything done on the engine right away like the heads and stuff from them so i was just wondering about those things

well a full engine from SSMS will come with the TB needed for that engine and a bigger MAF more than likely won't be needed.

MAF is not needed... the stock one will do fine... you can get bigger but thats for high output applications...

The throttle body... is a better idea the thing is te upper intake will need to be ported to match the upper intake... that is if you go a lot bigger then stock

It is Ram Air for Mustangs. It is more of a look mod it won't really give you much performance on a v6
