will bigget tires fill up wheel well instead of lowering the car?
right now i have 17" rims 245 45 17 all around the car. if i put 18's on the car and a wider tire, would it fill up the gap more instead of lowering the car?

I kind of feel like 18's will just make your car sit higher :\

ding ding ding....whatever "gap" the op manages to fill with this method will cause the car to ride all the much higher, giving it even more of a 4x4 look.

Like everyone else said, you can try to fill the gap but your car will just get lifted up higher. There's no real substitute for lowering springs (well... maybe cut springs
lol)

First try to cut them a little bit. IMO 18s are too much. I like 17s.

18's are sawweett, but without lowering springs you won't reduce the gap, the 4x4 look remained until I modded the suspension... check my garage with current pics and mods.

... think about the mechanics here .... divide the cirlce horizontaly.
-O- << you increase tire size= yes their will be more tire on the top, BUT also on the bottom, so going bigger tires will just lift your car, It will not change the position of the center of the Wheel |

Ideally you want to keep the same tire circumference so that you don't have to tune your spedo, so going from 17's to 18's wont really change anything, in order to actually fill the gap betwen the top of the tire and the wheel well you will want to drop the car, you can however fill the widness gap in the back by going with wider tires on a wider rim like a 10 or 10.5" rim and a 285-315 ~40 18

Wait hold on. I have a 2010 v6 and im pretty sure the stock rims are 17's i want either 19's or 20's, im leaning towards the 19's though. If i put those on and lowering springs should i be good? Like... if the "Math" adds up ill be increasing my ride height by an inch upwards, so if i put 2 inch lowering springs it should end up being just an inch lower from stock plus the wheel wells filled in? sorry if that got confusing...

I didn't read it all but I agree the bigger diameter of the tire the higher the car will sit.. Best best is lowering the car... Don't wanna look like you have a lift kit...... Unless you live in Tennessee lol

just get the size of rims you and and lower it.
it will look better on 18's than 16's no matter if you are lowered or not
