How about... Lets say a stock v6 is having a problem with a cyl. We just don't know what cyl it is. They all comp test fine. Rpm drop testing cyl's to see which one?
1. unhook IAC
2. start car
3. drop cyl 1 (record rpm drop). etc. with all cyl's
4. if the car stalls on any of the cyl drops, you have to raise the idle. So it won't stall.

How would you go about raising the idle? How about the idle set screw?

There is a reason they put it on the vehicle.

where did you pull that test from i am a Ford certified tech with 5 years with ford and we have never touched the idle screw if you need to raise the idle we use the WDS or IDS.
I think you need to go back to school

Ok sorry, at a shop sure, you are completely and utterly correct. How about a 21yr old in his garage at home? Yes that is how. It works and many people have done it and will do it.

Will you guys chill out? There are a million ways to do everything. This is just one way.

Of course you would record how much you turned the set screw, so that you could return it to where it was before. It will do the exact same thing without all the expensive stuff that only a dealer and nice shop would have.
