O2 Sensors

I have a 2000 v6 and i'm attempting to change the o2 sensors. to i have to remove the y-pipe to get to the pre cat sensors or is there more to take off? And i picked up four bosch sensors and the right sensor after the cat doesn't have enough clearance to fit. how can i get a decently priced sensor that isn't as long as the bosch? And my Haynes manual blows so is chilton any better? All haynes says is take out the old, and put in the new. Obviously the writer didn't take into account that 2000 v6's require a little more.

Chilton repair manual is the way to go. That's what i have, and has worked out the best for me. Also, i have the same car as you and i removed my cats and in the process of putting on the eliminators for those sensors. maybe you could do just that?

I changed out both my front o2 sensors with just a small ratchet and the 02 senor socket, with the slit down the middle, didnt have to remove anything at all,
