ok so on my way home my alternator died on me ... way to start friday the 13th !!!


anyways, for temp service till I get a new one, will the alternator out of my 94 V6 work ??? I think they are the same idk though lil help here ????

If the connections are the same , should work... But Ford changed alts I don't think the 94 and 04 are the same alternator and it may not fit.

on yahoo its showing 92-04 is the same...try it OP and see if it works or not

Call advance ask them

1) If the alt with work on both years (they can check dont let them be lazy)
2) If they have any NEW alt's
3) what voltage your alt is packing

Edit edit, Auto stores can get new ones but most the time, we have to order them we usually stock re-man'd ones. (cheaper)

ive looked around called some, cant find a none reman' one ... sucks, how about the 100$ one's off ebay ??? have same 1 year warrenty ...
Ford has a 130amp reman for 225.57 ... little to high !!!!

and EMT-B start P school on the 30'th of this month, why you ask ?

damn idk then, the ebay ones are half the price, I will not go to autozone, Ford has 1 for 225.57, Orielly's has one 204.99 (35$ core charge) w/ lifetime warrenty, its an Ultima brand, any good ???


well sweet, im only 19 so I cant be covered by insurance to drive the truck so im not working on it yet, but im PRN for our hospital and do all sorts of shit lol I start Medic on the 30's w/ a damn good instructor, I think at one point he was ranked 13th in the state of texas for instructors, and he made a 98 on his registry, also my boss here where I work was one of his intructers, and he made a 100 on it so I got some good references and teacher lol

Why not by a remanned one if it goes out just take it back.
I sell remanned ones all day long and hardly ever see them come back.

oh my 94, well I had planned on this weekend, putting the trans back in and getting it ready to sell ... lol so i may just do that and drive it till I get a new alternator put in :p hell idk its just more taking off and putting on and we have a spare truck ( that the computer is going out on and is very undependable ... ) that i can drive for now ...

check advance ??? website ??? or what ?


sweet, im not really interested in the fire part, i might get it just for sake of more money and better job, but I plan on getting medic then doing the 1 year RN bridge program somewhere do a lil careflight sometimes, ER nurse, all that good stuff, may get my tatical medic you know keep it mixed

Call them give them your year make model motor tell them you need to check the alternator have them pull the number, the voltage, then give them the other year make model motor ask them if they are the same number and voltage.

Also ask if they have any for the one that needs a alt that is new not used/remanned


My plan is to go EMT-B, Fire Fighter, Medic, RN, Physicians Assistant.

If one day I plan on camming this car and wanted to do a UDP at the same time, how will that effect the power of the alternator ?? will stock power be fine w/ UDP's ???

they called back, 137.00 for a rebuild, takes 1-3 hours, he says they usually rate 115 amps when he's done, and its a local shop not some china owned buisness think ill take an extended lunch and get r done

not sure ESG, the guy at Ford that I called said that according to the computers its a different part, but he said he wasnt a 100% sure that it wouldnt work, said might mount differ or plug in's might be a lil different. but he wasnt sure so he said just look and if it looks like it might, then try, but I think ill go with this shops rebuild for 137.00 .... only a 6month warrenty though ... dunno if i like that should i go w/ Orielly's 204$ one which w/ tax should be 225$ for a life time warrenty ??? or just have the local shop rebuild
