What path to take?
So basically, i am just trying to figure out what path i want to take on my car over the next few years to avoid backtracking and wasting money. First off, i posted this in the v6 forum because i dont want a gt. I want to build the car up myself from a simple v6 to something great. With that stated, here are a few mods that i know i want for sure, gears on an 8.8, lowering and other suspension mods along with possible replacement of parts in the crappy rear suspension (lcas, torque arm and panhard bar.) Then duals with an h pipe, and the jmod shift kit. UDPs probably arent worth it because i do have a fairly large sound system in it.
So basically, at this point ive built a platform to start producing a lot more power and handling. From here how would something like a decent H/C/I setup work. What kind of power could i expect from this? Otherwise, single turbo? Again, costs? benifits? expected hp? Thank you for any help or other suggestions. My goal is a fairly powerful DD v6 with above average handling capabilities. And yes, i understand that it will be more costly than just buying a cobra or something like that but then again, i want to spend the money and mod my car myself. (Though if sharkys got an extra 5.4 anywhere i wouldnt mind throwing that in. )

Stay for link on the rear suspention. It is easier, and you don't need all that stuff unless you are A.) Putting down insane power B.) Doing some serious AXing.

I'd go turbo if I were you. A single turbo is plenty for a DD. If you can weld and figure out how to make your own custom setup it should run you a couple grand, if you have someone make it for you and buy all brand new parts it could get really pricey. The 8.8 is probably a good idea if you're planning on putting down a lot of power, but I know that some people just build the stock rear end. If you have a manual transmission a new clutch (stage two?) and flywheel wouldn't hurt your cause either.

If you looking for it being pretty fast, but you don't want to go turbo, I would recommend getting a 4.2 and cam it with heads, roller rockers, lower intake, and windstar. aluminum flywheel and driveshaft, posi and steeper gears (3.90 or 4.56) in a 8.8. Better clutch and clutch adjustment kit. Shift stuff (auto get a j-mod, stick get short-throw) and other stuff that would support that.

I'd either swap in a V8, or sell your car and buy one with a V8. I'm not joking either, just being honest...
