Went to the track yesterday

Hey guys went to the track yesterday and I was pretty happy with my times. My best was a 16.68 at 83, but I had a couple reaction times around 0.17-0.19, which was faster than most of the cars I went against. My only problem was I couldn't seem to get a good reaction time and get my car to hook in the same run.

I used my shit tires on my old wheels, but anyone know if any companies make dr's or slicks that would fit the stock 15 in rims?

nice times
but i think esg is right, you dont need slicks on your car if youre putting down close to stock power

I ran that slow and I have a ton of mods. It just takes practice, oh and I have a manual. I ended at mid 15s by the end of day. I could not get traction as well. I say just keep racing and practicing. I have been practicing launching and am starting to get a feel for it with decreasing tire spin. I say just practice before you spend a lot of money.

For some reason that doesn't seem right for an auto....

street tires?
stock rims?
any weight reduction?

Also as for the slicks, you dont need slicks yet but DR's will help your 60' times which in the end will help your 1/4 mile time. Oh yea, if you havent, start taking advantage of the stock 2k stall converter.

I'm sorry, but this just seems a bit farfetched. Not trying to start anything, but I average 9.0-9.1 1/8 mile times along with stock to mild bolt on new edge GT's. How is it that you ran a 9.1 1/8th with just a CAI and some exhaust work on 315's? Do you have any other mods that aren't listed in your garage or something? Like some nitrous you used to do that or the track you ran on was pointed almost straight downhill?

Yeah I know I'm not anywhere near the power levels where I would need dr's or slicks but I'm laying out a plan for doing a turbo in the next year and a half, so I'm looking into purchases that will hopefully help me now and then.

Make the motions of doing a brake stand but don't spin your tire(s). Only bring the rpm's to 2k while you wait for the "tree" to light up, and I am sure you can figure the rest out. While messing with my times one night (got 17 runs in on one night lol) once I started using the stall converter I decreased my times by .1-.2.

Oh ok, yeah I already do that, I thought you meant I had to somehow engage the stall converter or something, but I have no idea how that would work lol
