Lowering it won't effect your traction in the snow. I suppose if you go crazy with lowering it and then try to drive through deep snow (which is dumb in any mustang) then your front bumper could act more like a plow.
But unless you get really good snowtires and you know how drive then you won't be going anywhere in the snow.

I daily drive mine in the winter through ice and snow.

The limiting factor on if I can take my car is when my bumper is plowing snow so I wouldn't advise lowering that at all. With decent tires, a T-lok and some weight in the back it's really not bad until you start plowing.

It all depends on how good of a driver you are, t loc is a great idea with snow tires and at least 100lbs. in the back. The thing is, if you go through snow deeper then your ground clearance you will slide over the snow directly into the ditch. Trust me I know 35mph though a 1/4 mile of 8" deep snow does not work especially when I didn't see it at 11:30 at night.
