Paid Off and Ready To rock.

First off this is my first post, Hello everyone. And i have read the other posts like these

Secondly I own a 97 3.8 special edition

Right now i got about 5 grand to drop into performance looking to spend up to maybe 15.

I don't have a garage to do this work in so the lucky guy at the shop gets too, now so i don't sound like a idiot when i walk into there and slap my money down what do i need to ask for and about how much HP is 5,000 going to get me?

with that 5 grand go buy a TMA single turbo run it at 4.4psi and buy a 8.8 rear-end from the same year gt as yours.. after that drop money into your fuel system.. injectors, fuel pump, ignition wires, tuning ect.
after that you can up the boost to like 7psi for a good amount of time.. then get your intakes, heads ported throw a cam in it made for a turbo. after that you can up the boost if you want.. but i wouldnt because doing that alone will put you in the 350+rwhp.. then you can put some forged internals and maybe a larger crank shaft.. like a 4.2 out of a ford 150. that will put you up in the 400+rwhp with the right amount of boost.

during all of this you need to think about upgrading other things: suspension, brakes, and tires. also you cant use the power if your tranny cant keep up so upgrade that too

if your serious about dragging look into getting a launch bar, slicks, removing your front sway bar, getting coil over springs, and reducing weight buy removing sound system, all but 1 seat, spare tire, and other things of that nature.. goodluck

Thats a good deal on the turbo, but can that just be thrown onto a stock? no premods?

Also i've read up on the UD pulleys would i need to get a high performance alternator to go along with it?

Also is there a site i can order the rear end from?

for the rear end...look through some junk yards first before you go to buy a new one...the cheapest i've seen em new was from www.summitracing.com and its 783 plus shipping..it comes with a 3.73 gear and a posi, and you decide to go with a turbo setup like some of the others suggested, a 3.73 is the gear you will want...anything higher will blow you motor.
