Honey Comb Trim Panel vs. Vinyl Decal Blackout Panel

Hey Guys,

I was comtemplating which one I should get. I wanted to know if anyone has either the honey comb trim panel or the vinyl decal (Links below) or generally what you guys think about each. There are a few differences:

Vinyl
-It's a lot cheaper
-I can have it in Black gloss
-Its harder to put on (I think).

Honey Comb Trim
-It's expensive
-It has honey comb styling
-The panel seems to rise above the level of the taillights (I think).

*Note: After taking the Ford emblem off the back panel I still want to reattach it to either black out option. Do you guys know if this is going to be hard to do?

Vinyl 100% I am personally not a big fan of the honeycomb style at all. But its all up to you in the end. Vinyl isnt hard to install at all either.

As for the Ford emblem, shouldn't be hard at all. Buy some double sided automotive emblem tape, put it on the back of the emblem and re attach.

3M Vinyl Rear Deck Lid Panel for 99-04

it is probly a bit harder to put on but you save money and still looks good

Just go buy a nice big sheet of vinyl from a sign shop, a lot cheaper just have to measure it and cut yourself. But if you know how to install vinyl right, you wont have an issue lining it up right.

Dont most people just spray the back instead of vinyl? If you paint it right that seems like the best option. I think mcqueen did that

I like the honeycomb grill personally. I did not want it to look painted or flush with the paint. It is personal preference I suppose. Here it is on one of my old mustangs:

Has anyone ever bought a honeycomb for the plastic, but then shaved the honeycomb design off?

I would think that the time and effort in doing that would cost a bit more than to just buy the vinyl stuff.

Yeah it would cost more and require more effort, but I wonder how it would turn out... Probably not worth it.

My vote is paint it on. Cheapest route, just as easy as vinyl.
