Dual Exhaust Conversion, HELP!

So i want to convert my car into a true dual exhaust. I want the loudest sound i can get from my V6 and was wondering what the best way to go about this? I know ill have to buy the H-pipe adapter kit but after that im not sure? Is there another way of doing it without the adapter kit that will be smog legal? Any input would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

First off don't buy the adapter. Its a waste of money and it won't actually be true duel exhaust. True duels don't have any cross over pipe. Secondly your best bet is to look on youtube for what sound you're looking for.

Once you decide what you want try and piece it together for cheap.

I just ordered straight pipes, thrush weld mufflers, dumps and all the hanging and connecting hardware for like 130$ from summit racing.

You might want to see what the shops if your area charge to do exhaust and see if they will only use parts they supply or if you can buy your own.

Lastly if you keep the cats and just chop the y-pipe afterwards you should be smog legal anywhere.

Umm?

Yeah you can have true duals with a mid pipe, as long as its not a Y pipe.

true duals can be either with an h or x pipe or something like a prochamber and divorced duals are with no mid pipe.

Divorced duals are still a true dual set up though.

Where did you hear this? If you don't actually know that what you're saying is true, then please put the words I think somewhere in your answer or don't answer at all. Let someone with actual experience come in and help. Not trying to sound like a prick...

I'm pretty sure the general consensus is that it will sound BBAADD.

Go to an exhaust shop and have them custom make you a set-up. It will be easier, cheaper, and sound better.

Yes. If you get that adapter you will be able to use a catback fromt a gt. If they don't fit exactly the exhaust shop will modify it to make it fit.

Here is your answer.

Go to a local exhaust shop, have them cut off your Y pipe and weld you an H pipe if you so desire, and then have them put on two flowmaster 40 series mufflers.

H-Pipe, Flowmaster Original 40's. Longtubes if you have the money.
And just bring it to a shop, its a waste to try to retro fit a GT exhaust.
