spark plugs

I tried the search function, but had no luck. So here goes, which spark plugs do you recommend for a 99 3.8 with 120k on the clock? The car is unmodified (engine-wise), and probably will not be modded. TIA

Andy!

Go to the local auto store tell them what you need and they will say what the OEM should be. Stick OEM.

OEM are the motorcraft...riiiight? The guy at O'Reillys said that the Autolites work just as good. I might seem like an idiot asking questions about plugs lol...Its just that I want to compare what you guys run. I ran NGK's in my GTP (12 sec GTP).

stick with motorcraft OEM
Auto parts stores hire people fresh off the street and call them auto specialist. When i walk into an auto parts store and ask for a 9/16 crescent wrench and they go looking....lol....i walk out.

^^lol! Sounds good. 3 votes for OEM works for me. Lets see how this pony reacts to new plugs and wires.

I have motorcraft now. I had NKGs before and it didn't add/minus anything. Plus they cost less... (motorcraft that is)

+1. My NGKs run fine, pretty expensive though ($45 for 6).

Stick with Motorcraft or Autolite copper plugs. You should be able to pick up 6 for under $10.

When it come to plugs. No need to got for the expensive brand. No need do plugs with multiple diodes. They don't make 'more spark. They either split the spark up, or it travels to the path of least resistance. The motorcraft come pre-gapped, but I would recommend checking the gap at the store. Autozone keeps a gap coin behind/on the counter. Two of mine were under gapped.

I would just buy the $1 gap tool and do it at home. Half of mine (motorcraft) wern't gapped correcty.

Hey I went for the TR55IX Iridiums. But that was back when I was a car newbie. I've considered just picking up a set of cheap Autolite coppers from WalMart and swapping them but the NGKs are running fine
