Different types of CAI
Here is what I read on the K&N site:
Typhoon intakes come in one of three designs; cold air intakes (CA), short ram intakes (SR), or complete cold air (CCA) intakes which can be configured as either a cold air intake or a short ram intake What is the difference of the three and which should I choose? |

Short ram isn't the best option over a fenderwell cold air intake. The reason behind it is that the fenderwell draws air in through the fender, which is some of the coldest air. A short ram is still in your engine bay taking in the hot air surrounding your engine.
