Moving on...

The exhaust in my '99 V6 Standard is leaking on the left side, and my driver's side catalytic converter has a loose O2 sensor that's been rattling around for a while now. The leak sounds to be getting worse, as my beautiful Stang is starting to sound like a high-powered lawnmower. Ugh, I even had to refrain from roaring back at some loser in an Eclipse yesterday! The horror!

My question is: Should I just go all out and get a Steeda dual exhaust (that's what I picked at AM.com, and that's the one I'd want if I were to get a whole new exhaust) and some ceramic shorty headers (also @ AM.com)? The Steeda dual system is $600, which also happens to be the price of the stock Y-pipe that I'd have to buy to replace my cat (without cutting out the old and welding in a new one, after also purchasing 2 new O2 sensors, which is what I was told I'd have to do). I don't even know if all that is true!

Basically, I don 't want to spend a butt-load of money on stock crap if I can get a similar deal on an awesome new exhaust.

Also, my heater core busted a long time ago, and winter will be here sooner than I can say "I'm broke and I'm not a mechanic." I have a buddy who says he can do it for $200 if I buy the parts, which is $400 less than what the local dealership quoted me. I know there are a few threads around for that stuff, but does anybody know of a good place to get a detailed, step=by-step, illustrated guide to doing that? I'd just feel better if my friend had that to go by, in case he's a little rusty (he hasn't had a car in years, and he has never worked at a shop).

Thanks for any help in advance.

P.S. I raced that Eclipse, and the bugger kept up with me. It was a stalemate. That bugs me.
DUDE I would get a mechanic to do that I just broke mine 3 weeks ago with labor it cost me $1000 almost made me cry lol

It just needs it or it can get to high pitched thats why they have mid-pipes. I have straight pipes but with cats cant find one with straights without cats.
