Camber

I Just put on new wheels and went to get an alignment done especially because my old front passenger was very worn on the out side. Well i went to vespias where they did the alignment and gave me a print out of the b4 and after readings. Well the Camber was un adjusted and highlited in red ( thats bad i assumed ). According to the adjustment diagrams it looks like my new tires are going to wear down on the outside too. Well i called the shop and the main guy said that a couple hundred dollar camber kit would be required to adjust the camber and that my wheels would wear down fine even with out having it fixed. Is he bullshitting me because i really dont believe this guy and i am pretty pissed. im just trying to settle down a little ( usually i dont type this much)

If your camber can't be adjusted to spec then what you would need would be a set of caster camber plates, I would reccomend the Maximum Motorsports CC plates. With that said however, the only reason you wouldnt be able to get your camber adjusted properly would be if you've lowered the car quite a bit, if you havent then I would go somewhere else.

-0.5 is what it should be. However, if you aren't lowered, and don't have over 18" wheels, there shouldn't be an issue in getting your camber correct. At stock I wouldn't keep it at -1.

if your at 1 neg you should be ok. I set mine at 1.5 once but didnt like it. went back to 0.7 feels much better there. anyway i think 0.5 is correct stock setting so your only off 0.5. without camber plates you really cant adjust it. your car is a 2000 be happy its that close.

when i set mine at 1.5 it felt like it wanted to wander around on highway going in a straight line. but it felt good in turns or even long sweeping highway turns. it also started to wear inside of tires. since i set it back a little to .7 it feels much better all around. actually big diferance. if i had nitto 555s i would make sure my alignment was spot on. dont understand 1.5 off of what 0 or 0.5 stock setting. what is you actual camber setting?

Is you car lowered? If so, stock strut top plates (I don't know the real name) will not go over enough to give you proper camber. You can get 3-bolt C&C plates and that will get it in a lot closer. As far as tires wearing normal with "red-zone" camber; her is lying through his teeth.

i work at a tire place where we do alignments and shit. yea sometimes they cant touch it or cant adjust it 1. because it just isnt possible or 2. you need a new camber bolt. but since your car is lowered camber plates are going to be your best bet because the bolt can only adjust so much and barely does anything anyway.

If not lowered, has the car been in a wreck? If it is not lowered and everything is still original, then they should have not problem getting it into spec. Stock parts will allow at least a few degrees and either direction on on all aspects of alignment. I would take it back and demand a refund, or it to be dialed in to spec.

Are you sure you aren't just looking at the 'before' printout?
