Wheel Bearing?

Ok, so today I was finishing my car and fixed the lower intake manifold. It runs great now. But I lifted it up on hoist to change oil. I noticed that I could move my driver side tire. Like if I grab top and bottom and rock it, there is play. So I thought it was maybe loose lug nuts. I know that sometimes when I hit a large bump it makes a noise. So I tightened down the lug nuts, well, I guess I checked them and they were tight. So I removed the tire. I could feel a little play in the wheel bearing. Like when I moved it in a circle direction, you could feel some play, and you could do a little rocking back and forth. Just a slight amount. My question is, do you think that it can wait until spring to replace?

Also, does anyone know roughly how much a new wheel bearing would cost? Money is tight due to college.

Yeah it sounds like a wheel bearing/hub. It shouldnt be no more than 80 dollars.

It's just gonna be annoying to you, not like your wheel is going to fall off. When I had one of mine replaced it was in the $80 range as well.

Here's what I've heard about driving on bad wheel bearings. The longer you drive on it, the more it messes up shit. The more expensive it is. I don't know if it's because of different models, but notice others say 80 dollar replacement, and clide stated 350..

I'd replace it so nothing else goes wrong, better than spending more money down the road and worsening your problem, lol.

Its gonna be different for different cars... the 2 guys with the same car as OP had it cost one price, and on a totally different make and model it cost something else. Not really much else a wheel bearing is going to hurt other than itself...

The bearing could lose all bearing ability, heat up from the friction, melt the axle in half, wheel falls off, hot metal touches gas line, car catches fire and burns to the ground. Keep your car from burning down, replace your wheel bearing.

Lmaowrofwdoomm.

I'm not saying ride it out and see how far you go...

Do it before your car catches fire.

That sounds like some final destination shit right there.

Hey fine with burning the car down lol, I got full coverage, then I get some money to buy a mach one JK

But I know that it can cause some problems. And I am going to keep on top of it. I might just replace it here when I get a chance.

I replaced one today in my auto class took me like half hour to do.

I always heard about an hour labor per wheel, but the part can vary. They seem pretty cheap for a 95 mustang (example).
