question on exhaust systems

do systems like this make me have to delete my cats?

1998-04 Mustang V6 3.8L 2.5" Stainless Steel Pypes Dual Turn Down & Off Road X-Pipe Exhaust System at LRS - Same Day Shipping!

just a dumb question

it says catback but my cats go to a single pipe like this system

Anything that says "off road" is 99.99999% not going to have cats.

Supposedly the fitment quality on Pypes full exhaust systems is shitty.

I put a flowmaster system on mine and I love the sound, I had to take the cats off though and Im still not sure why but when I left them on I had raw fuel getting dumped into the pipes as soon as I removed them it stopped and it has run fine since then. anyone want to explain that?

I LOVE seeing you post this. Because its true. I wish i would have seen you post this before i bought my pypes system. I cant wait to get some flow 40s and some longtubes. But yeah, my pypes system sucked to get on. Its given me problems. Mostly staying on. But yeah, dont buy pypes.

Lol. I was sooo close to buying the full system v6 kit, but I read about the fitment problems and just took it to a shop.

You don't have any exhaust shops at all? I promise it will be cheaper/better... But if you really want to go that route will can use this setup... You will need this, this, and this.

Here's the setup I like. Cheaper than the flow 40' with O\R H pipe too.. Just my opinion

Stock cats, cut on both sides directly behind the cats. Two pipes fabricated back to dual Thrush welded series mufflers. There is NO cross over, just straight divorced duals. Then from the Thrush mufflers, I have GT take off tail pipes out the back, that's it. All under $250
No mid pipe, true dual. Thrush welded mufflers, with cats.

Althought admittedly The flow 40 option sounds awesome haha

Yeah pretty much. You just tell them what you want and then wait til it's done. The only thing you need to bring is cash.

Do not buy an exhaust system. You'll be paying $600+ without including what it's going to cost to get it installed. Go down to your local exhaust shop, tell them what midpipe + mufflers + exhaust tips you want, get a quote to have the system custom fabbed. I bet it will cost less than $500 for parts and labor and will more than likely sound as good if not better than buying a whole system from a name brand company. If you don't want your cats left on, offer to pay in cash if the guy will take them off for you (it's technically illegal which is why you pay in cash so whatever he charges to remove the cats -or just not reinstall them) is money directly in his pocket).

According to Federal law, you have to have cats on any car in the US if you plan to drive it on the streets. If cops in your area are dicks about modded cars, then definitely have cats of some sort on there. If you want, you can even gut the cats before you put them back on. Then it looks like you have cats, but they're not actually doing anything.

IF you're into modding, then you shouldn't worry about inspection you can get your shop to inspect you, and maybe give me a lil extra $

EDIT:I am not condoning and illegal activites
