Hey y'all... So here's my story... I just got back from my second deployment in Iraq and I bought my moms Mustang. It's an 03 V6 coupe and It only has 41k miles on it. I have wanted this car since I was 16, but now I have it and I want to make some mods to it. This is my first Mustang and my first time working with engines. The engine on it is completely stock, and there is nothing wrong with the car at all.
So this is where y'all come in. Any suggestions?
Keep in mind I'm an FNG and don't know all the fancy terms but I want to learn and I learn fast. Also, anyone happen to be close to Edinburg, Tx? I'll be moving down there to the wife in Nov and it'd be cool to know someone to learn firsthand from...

And then tell us what you want to do with the car. Do you want to drag race it? Do auto-cross stuff? Just have a fun street car...etc...


And then there is the budget question.

Ok, I think I'll put a turbocharger on her... What are the upsides and downsides of a twinturbo? What are some other small addons that are good?

Dont be that FNG that comes in and says he is going to twin turbo. Read the posts and stickies and you'll learn twin turbo is overkill on these cars a single one will do


For a sigle turbo you need to turbo itself, the piping, manifolds, injectors off a 03/04 cobra, fuel pump off an svt focus, and a dyno tune (good idea to build your rear end up or swap an 8.8 in) Im sure I forgot some stuff but as soon as ESG or someone else comes in they'll correct me.

Just a friendly hint, read around first before asking questions. A lot of stuff is posted every week saying almost the same thing you asked and some of us tend to get annoyed really quickly when we see the same thread day in and day out.

Oh and an 8.8 inch rear end, sorry. Its the rear end out of a GT, its a little beefier than our stock ones and have tlok (both wheels spin instead of one)
