Lowering springs
Would a 2" drop be too much for a mustang i have 18" rims so its about 1/2 an inch higher on the car. A guy i know had to rebuilt his cobra motor because he messed up his oil pan due to its height... but he has 17" rims if it plays a difference on the height, i just figure mine is higher off the ground. I dont want to have to avoid every pot hole on the road cuz the roads here suck and the driveway is on a hill.

if the roads suck, i dont think i would look into a lowering springs. My car isnt even lowered but its still pretty damn close to the ground. And for a while, my aftermarket exhaust would scrape on every bump i hit.

I think two inch is a bit much for every day driving. you will need alot of other thing just to get it align properly.

Thats what i figured I can lowering springs that lower 2" cheaper that the 1.5"
but i would be more comfortable with it over the 2" but having 18's still not keep it ideal for DD?

I would recommend going with a 1.5 inch drop or so. That is pretty decent.

Cut them, its the cheapest option of all. Mr Red Pony cut a coil out of his springs and its pretty low.

Check my garage for my mods, that set up dropped me 1.75" lower than stock height measured at the side skirt. Springs rated 1.5" drop. I wouldn't want to be any lower at all, and will actually be playing with my bumpsteer kit to try and raise the front a little bit. Have 18" wheels as well.
Basically I suggest either Eibach prokit or HR Supersport springs. I have a write up as well if you'll be doing the install yourself, its pretty simple if you know your way around hand tools and aren't in special classes.

Don't use a spring compressor, it only makes the job more difficult by getting in the way.

Really? Good thing i didn't buy one, i should just lower the control arm then and remove them that way?

Yes. Esp don't buy one, auto parts stores rent them out and you get your deposit back upon return. If you let the a-arm down all the way, then just use a pry bar to get the spring out, it won't be compressed anymore and thus won't be storing any potential energy to fling out at you, you'll just have to pry them free. Again, I have a write up if you don't want to use AM's.
