Battery light

I went to the drag strip today... While the car was shifting my battery light went on during the shifts. Could this be the altornator? Sometimes you hear the belt slip a little bit.

How high did you RPMs get between shifts? For a while my battery light would come on if I hit 5k and it progressive came on at lower RPMs over a few months until the alternator finally crapped out one day. I do agree with Jakashh, it might have been the belt slipping but I recommend having the alternator tested, just to be safe.

Possibility of it being the belt, but that is exactly how my alt crapped out as well.

Mine was coming on at around 4500rpm for a while. I've yet to see it happen since replacing my belt but I might just not have noticed it yet.

I've driven probably 5k miles and haven't seen any problems while it's been doing that.

I had to same problem, sad to say that it was my battery terminals. I got new terminals with a new battery and it quit. Test the alt and if it's not that then check your terminals and batt..

That actually could be what fixed mine. I forgot the same day I replaced my belt I also cleaned one of my battery terminals since it was very corroded.

Yup pretty much what happened to mine. The battery wasn't getting charged enough to keep sufficient power running and it threw codes on me. Looked at my terminals, and because of my sound system I'm guessing they were horrible. Checked my battery and it was about dead anyway so I replaced both and there was no problem.
