questions from a newb...
hi everyone,
I unfortunately, am not as knowledgeable in my 1998 mustang base, as most of you are on this forum, and I was hoping if anyone can kindly answer some questions for me. . . 1) I really need new headlights. My night vision, is terrible, and seems like it's quite common. I've been researching but there are literally so many options to go with. I've seen a lot of OE comparable, SA approved, etc. etc. headlights offered on Ebay. Can someone kindly recommend just a normal pair of new headlights? I plan to take it to my mechanic for installation.. 2) Lightbulb - I realized, I should probably invest in a good pair of light bulbs.... any suggestions? 3) My driver window - is dead. haha, My mechanic thinks it's the window regulator.. anyone have a pair they can sell me? I see them on Amazon for about 90, but if anyone else has one lying around.. for cheaper price, I'd buy it! Thanks everyone, forums like this really help out! |

First off, im sure autozone can hook you up with new bulbs. Second maybe even new headlights. Are the headlights like foggy? it might be on the inside of the caseing, in that case you have to get new lights. But try sanding it with 1000 grit sand paper, then put some buffing compound on it and rub away. Or, you could take it to a body shop and see if they could buff out your headlights. by the way...Welcome

To answer number 3, its probably the actuator or the solenoid. The cheapest i've seen an actuator for go is like $80 and solenoids im unsure about.

any recommends on the hids? and yea my headlight casing is disgusting. ive tried sand papering, and other products but no real improvement.
I've seen on Ebay just standard OE comparable, sa approved headlights. are those good enough for what im looking for? |

Black housing OEM headlights. I put these things through a rough winter, leaving them caked with a good inch of ice at one point, and they're holding up great. Get some silicone sealant and seal up the crack where the 2 piece of the headlights come together (do this as soon as you take them out of the box) to keep the moisture from building up in your headlights.

Wow thanks mcqueen! That was very helpful..
I found the following on ebay.. wondering if there's anything specific i should know about, or look for before i purchase these - these are 'crystal' lights... what's the difference between these and the ones at this link? -> also, mcqueen, what do you think about these? Digital Slim H13-3(9008) Bi-Xenon HID Kit Wholesale Digital Slim H13-3(9008) Bi-Xenon HID Kit HID Conversion Kits Car Lights HID Xenon Car Headlights Bulbs Ballasts at competitive prices [VVME-HKB98-DSL] - $70.99 : VVME.COM, Car Parts, HID KIT, Tatto I understand that after a certain 'color point', it starts to emit a bluish hue... are all hid lights like this? I'd rather want one that emits regular white light, but just.... brighter than the ones i have now. again, thank you and thank you guys! |

Rgith around the 8000k is when you start to get the blue tint and as the number increases, the darker it gets until 12000k's, where its purple. I think 6000k is the closest to white light and when you get lower then that you start to get a yellow hue
