Vibration on acceleration....

Hey guys, back with yet another question. My issue today is that whenever I take my car past about 55-60 MPH then my steering wheel and car in general just kind of shakes/vibrates. However, I do have two damaged rims that look like they have been smashed into a curb, so they are not able to be balanced. I dont know if my problem is in the rims or something else on the car.....any feedback?

Rich

very well could be the rims. jack your car up and put your let flush on the rim (but not too much pressure as to stop it from spinning). Spin the wheel and if it hits your leg and stops it from spinning, you have a bent rim. Very hard to bend those rims though. they usually just crack.

Anyway, if it's not that, see if you can tighten your control arms. That would cause it also.

also forgot to mention. it could be warped rotors as well. that is cause by shi*** rotors that dont take well to extreme heat caused by braking. get rid of your OEM rotors and get some drilled and slotted rotors. Even if its not the problem, i would HIGHLY recommend getting them, your rotors will always be a couple hundred degrees cooler so your braking distance is HIGHLY improved.

how do i tighten the control arms? also how much are the rotors roughly and i thought your car would vibrate when you were braking if you have bent or warped rotors?
