New Stang

Hey guys I just recently recieved a used 99 white mustang v6. It runs pretty damn good considering it has 177k miles on it. Previous owners took really good car of it. It has been in two crashes(one front, one rear) but its all been taken care of. Only problems so far is that it shifts hard going into 2nd. Any reason why that could be?
Other thing is I really want to start modding cars, but should i wait until down the road when I have a car with not so many miles, or is this thing going to last me awhile and is it safe to start modding.

Sure, you can start modding it if you want, but one thing you should look into is an engine rebuild before you get into the big stuff.

Alright, just wanted to see what everyone thought about it. The two crashes where just minor nothing serious. I'm mainly concerned about the 177k miles on it. Anyone know anything about it shifting hard though?

your tranny fluid might be low. but yeah, im not sure i would spend too much on an engine that has 177k. Unless you plan to keep it forever and can drop some money into it. my car only has around 128k and i plan to rebuild the engine when i start modding heavily.

My car shifts kind of hard into 2nd. I just think it's the tranny mount, or just how the transmission is made.

I thought it was never miss third gear again, because of hitting the wall between 1st and 3rd.
