Glad to see that it arrived. The van that one was pulled from was filthy. I cleaned it up a bit on the outside

For the outside I used goo gone on some other ones and it worked pretty well. Just lay down some towels and soak it then either rinse with water or wipe it off.

you need to get in there with some sort of porting tool. polishing flapper sanding roll stone or what ever you can come up with. i've cleaned 3 of them and they all had a lot of carbon build up. get that shit out before soaking .

I soaked mine in a big thing of grease oil cutter stuff. Then i used a tire scrubber it get into all of the ports. They had almost 1/4" of shit on the walls of the ports. It took a lot of work to get it clean. Then I painted it.

Yep those intakes get filthy most of the vans I pulled them off of ( I've pulled about 25) were at the auto wrecker because the owner didn't do any maitnence. The air intake and filter are usually soaked and covered in oil.

I got it all clean i soaked it in dishsoap and simple green for the night then hand cleaned it all out. For the bolts on the coilpack, they are 7mm right? 1/3 bolts came out easy and the other 2 are like stripping out the outside. So any tips here

Also The egr going into the header has a leak in it and I need to tighten the bolt, what size is the bolt how do you tighten it being I cant get to it really with a wrench

Try a crescent/pipe wrench. I think it is a 15mm.

So is it a delete cap, or are you still using the EGR? As for the bolts on the WS, try buying one of those sockets that can get a stripped bolt off.

Hey Matt, how much did it cost you in total for the windstar? I know southfor has the intake for $75 but how much did it cost after getting the extra stuff from VAP?
I just wondered how much cheaper it is then buying the whole setup from VAP.

220 for the 65mm Tb. Side bracket, Iac Braket and intake pipe. And 75 from southfour.
So a little under 300 bucks. And I would definatly go for the bigger Tb its only 20 bucks more than the stock size, and a 65m tb would ushally cost you 200.

I Got all the bolts and manifold off, I got a socket instead of using a wrench.

And Redpony the nut is stock size, whatever size that is.

It kinda looks like the nut all the way to the left. But I have longtubes so the header is a little differnt

Do I use ford's gaskets for the stang? The windstar has these awkward rubber gaskets that make the oem gaskets not very flat
