Question about rotors

I'm almost positive my car needs rotors. Maybe just front, I don't know. But I'm sure of it. I need an idea how much it would be in labor to replace the rotors on the front for a 95 mustang v6? and if I should have all four or just front two done? I need this cheap as possible.

And the symptom I'm getting is, when coming to a stop slowing down, if I am turning the wheel a little sometimes I feel this pulsation go through the brakes and into the steering wheel alittle. The car stops fine it seems, but this gets on my nerves and makes me feel unsafe. Supposedly new brakes were put on not too long ago front and back so.

Just do it yourself if you need it cheap, it isnt that hard. Its going to be a good amount more expensive if you have a mechanic do it. Mr. Red Pony just did his pretty cheap and did all 4 I believe. Search around adn Im sure its been covered 100 times

Thing is bro, I lack the time, experience, or jack to get this thing up. I would need someone else to do it at this time. Rough cost for mechanic for front rotors in labor?

the labor would be about 1.0-1.5hrs.

A front bake job, cutting the rotors, new pads should be about 100-125 bucks.

New rotors, a little more.

It is a very simple job. Maybe someone on the forum lives close by and you can do it together. The whole job shouldnt take more than an hour.

a front brake job is about 2.0 hours, but shops dont charge as much to JUST replace or resurface rotors.

i get 1.5hrs to resurface 2 rotors, i would get about 1.0hr to replace 2 rotors.
shops wont charge extra labor for new rotors if your doing a brake job anyway, theres no extra work involved, in fact theres less since the rotors dont need to be resurfaced.

well if you need to have it done at the shop there isnt much we can help you with, I'd go to a ma and pa shop and get a couple quotes so you get an idea of prices.

Oh and I'd invest in a jack.

If you can take your rotors off yourself, which is very simple. You can take them to an auto store usually and get them turned for around 10 to 15 bucks a peice. Now this isnt always the case. Sometimes the rotors are worn so far down, that they would have to grind them to far down. Their is a legal limit to their thinness/thickness which is stamped on the rotors. New OEM pads are all you need, nothing expensive and special. Now you can do 2 at a time or all 4. I would recommend doing all 4 at the same time. But if you want to do 2, do both front, then both back.

Sound like you need to have brakes redone and an alignment done.

Already had a front end alignment back in June after replacing power steering rack. Brakes seem to stop fine, no leaks, fluid is topped off. I'm not sure, rotors just seem logical to me.

Don't replace your rotors. It's most likely not your problem. Even if they are the problem, it's not bad enough to warrant replacing them. Take it up to a tire shop and have them measured to see if the are out of round. If they are out of round have them turned rather than replaced.

Could my camber being off 1.5 on the front right tire be the problem I'm describing? I forgot that I never got camber plates.

............. ^^^
The front end alignment should have taken care of that problem ... they correct the caster and camber when they do that.
