ok no..

1) i would only do that if its your weekend warrior/race car.. (i mean like on slicks n stuff and in that case 4.56s)

2) 4.10s will take you through the gears wWAAAAY too fast on a DD

3) putting 4.10s on it you wont like i say something near 3.50

No way you will go through the gears to quick if he runs it hard through the 1/4 with 4.10's he should be halfway through 3rd. 4.10s aren't that fast most trucks come stock with them

ok because your talking about your car with a stock motor and 4.10s.. you dont realize that a s/c is gonna force him through gears faster? goodluck with that lol

Yeah a s/c will get his motor turning over faster but he is not going to run out of gear with 4.10's I know drag cars running 4.56's with 600 hp on a blower setup that don't run out of gear.

ok because i said he would run out of gear? no..

im sure its his daily driver and it would be retarded to go 4.10s ona DD w/ a power adder..

highest id go on DD is 3.73 with a 18inch rim.. which basically acts like 3.53s or w/e

Well hp increase isn't going to change his rpm at a speed he may reach it faster but he will still run around the same RPM as NA. someone had a calculator to figure out the gear you need.

ok you do that im not gonna fight this anymore because all your looking at is the track end of it.. bottum line is.. you will cut your top-end (since your using a poweradder), you will get horrible gas milage as it is why push it even more, you will need drag radials or slicks to keep the tires from spinning rediculously at launch w/ 4.10s, and point blank.. you just wont like it ..

I have 4.10s on mine. Yes, its also a DD. Automatic. I have no problems. Ive been driving great, still good gas mileage, and everything. There has never been a significant difference in anything aside from better performance after the gears were installed. When I do the track? The 4.10s really eat the track. Its awesome. If you have an auto V6, 4.10s is definately the way to go.

If your referring to top end hp it won't drop in any since he is still going to be within his rpm band, and gas miliage is out the window any way with any kind of FI. And slicks he will need at the track but with slicks on the street you will never catch anyway.

And as for you having a 5-speed if you are comfortable that you can handle the short first gear you will be fine if your not a good enough driver to handle it I would wait on the power adder as well

Hm, I had read in that same article that 3.73s do alot better with a manual car. I would say, in this case, try 3.73s first. See how they feel. If you like? Keep em. If you feel you can add some more bawlz to your wheels, go with 4.10s
