Sideshow bob's V6 10.999 sec. build

Hello to all. New guy here with a build.
My plan is to make this 2000 v6 mustang go 10sec. in the 1/4 mile.
I got this car from my daughter, it was the car we bought new for her ( yes I'm old ) when she went to college. I traded a 2006 corolla for it, That means I bought the same car twice.
Here's some pics when I got the car.

And after I cleaned it some.

Now here's what I have to start with. My plan is to do all the supporting mods first suspension, rear end, trans, and then last motor with ssm internals twin turbos (No single)

Starting pics.

Should have followed shiner and did all the power and no suspension

And if your gonna run 10s you may wanna get rid of that fuel pump.

You might not see in the pic but there's a quick ratio steering and steering linkage. The car will be lightened a lot, but still keep it's seats. I'll just have to make more HP.

Curious...
What turbos do you plan on running, fuel system, trans, and rear end.

Well I got that one to replace the one that just went bad. I want the car to run while I work on it. It's not a DD, but as long as it keeps running I can have fun with the build. I can always buy another focus pump or twin something later. Or maybe a sump set up down the road.

Well it's funny you should ask. I have been doing a lot of searching on this forum and others. Enough to know that you have a lot of knowledge in that area.
What do you suggest? Oh it will be a 4.3 stroker.

A single precision 6262 or 6265
Go return style
if you only want 10s a 255 walbro pump will take you to 10.99

I don't know why, but I want twin turbos I do all my own welding and will be making my own headers and what not. Twin focus pumps will not work?

Its kind of a weird setup to do twin focus pumps... And even then I don't know where it maxes out at. I wouldn't chance it though, do twin super car pumps with a cobra tank or sump it and go returnless.

Ya I've been looking on G-list for a cobra tank with no luck, but I have time. Went to the Houston swap meet, Just the same old junk. Not even a 8.8 in sight. My trans. will be the T5 with the G-force rebuild.

I would do a pa c4 with 4000 stall, 373 gears and 28" tire. Twin 16g's will put you in the 10's...solid 10's with the c4.

You could do that too...

I don't know if he is building a race car or a car he wants to DD and run 10s at the same time. If hes trying to build a street car that runs 10s he'll need more than 16gs to keep up with the H-town cars :p

No DD but a 10sec. street car was what I was thinking of.
PSI tuned my 2003 lightning, when I get this thing put together that's where I'll take it.
I'm not a big time racer I just like to go to the track every now and then. Maybe a fun ford weekend, if it every comes back to Houston. I know superchargers and autos, but now I would like to play with turbos and manuals. There's a lot I don't know, but I'm learning more about it. oh and having fun doing it.

what kind of MPH do you want, or do you just want 10s?

Just want the 10s I know my goal is set high, but I believe I can do it. With twin turbos manual trans and without changing the look of the car. I have even thought about sending the stock wheels out to be widen to 10" for the rear lol. not trying to build a sleeper, a sports car can not be one in my book. just something different.

Nice start for the front, and the car looks nice man. For 10s you're still going to need a wheel and tire combo, the rear end and so on. You still have money to spend but you have a good start.
Why Twins? even if you can weld thats more money on turbos, piping, welding, material, BOVs and so on. To each their own, but if its a budget thing I would save $1,000+ and go with a single turbo setup. A billet 6265 as mentioned would be an excellent turbo for about 500-600rwhp setup

Twin focus pumps should last a little over 500whp with a wire upgrade, upgraded FDPM as well. But for that get GT40s and they flow a little better. That should hold about 550whp on pump and 600+with race fuel. You can throw a boost-a-pump in there and maybe make 600whp on pump but I would not recommend that.
Good luck with the build

That is rather costly. If you're not worried about the sleeper look just get a nice set of bigs and littles that are nice and light
