I need new shock absorbers

Well the rear of my car bounces all over the place which sucks. Sooo what kind of shock absorbers do you suggest to buy for the rear. i dont think the front needs to be replaced yet.... or isnt as bad. Im looking for personal experience. feel free to talk about the front as ill probably do them as well just not immediately. I dont want it to be redicuclously stiff i think because i drive on some bumpy roads

I don't know about shocks but I know getting caster/camber plates for the front will give you a much smoother ride.

I have Tokico HP (blue) shocks and struts on my car. It stiffened up the ride compared to my stockers that had 100k on them but I absolutely love them. There are some railroad tracks spaced over a small series of hills in my area that my car loves. 99% of people will slow down to 20mph or less and their cars will bounce all over the place but I can hit that shit at 35mph and the car handles it like a champ. I'd say the $310 I spent for the shocks and struts was well worth every penny and the install was easy.

The cc plates really help if your car is lowered. I noticed a big difference when I installed mine. It helps absorb impact when you hit potholes or bumps.

I didn't think $310 for 2 shocks and 2 struts was too bad. If you're just in need of struts, they're only like $55 each. I don't think I would personally cheap out on my shocks and struts. Advance Auto has Monroe shocks for like $17 each, but I can't say I would put them on my car. If you're willing to go with used shocks, the 03/04 Mach 1's had nice stock shocks (I think they were actually the Tokico HPs). If you can find a wrecked Mach 1 at a nearby junkyard is fairly low miles then you could possibly pull the shocks off (if someone hasn't gotten to them already). Your shock and struts are going to have quite an impact on how car rides, I don't recommend going too cheap on them.

CC plates don't absorb any impact... They help to correct your alignment. Having correct alignment will help with ride quality.

OP, if you want to do your suspension right you have to pay for it. The HP blues are on the low side of the suspension price range.

This. I still need to get an alignment done on my car. Haven't had one done in a long time, not even after I put in my new shocks and struts.

They help with steering and suspension. Also it's kind of a mental thing when you hit a pothole you could hear the springs idk if there really is an improvement there.

Thanks McQueen for that link I forgot to check americanmuscle. I know my next purchase now.

cc plates adjust your caster and camber essentially the angles at which your struts are so that your suspension geometry is correct when you lower the vehicle. it has nothing to do with potholes

Correct caster and camber help with steering as well.

No, a strut is the front absorbers and a shock is the rear absorbers. What you're referring to is a coilover setup

Well I suggest you get the twin tube shock absorber. It can restore original handling of your vehicle. Its a good one.

I got them on ebay from a seller called "brakemasters" or something like that. Cost like $115 for all 4 rotors. Problem is they aren't zinc coated so they don't look nearly that good anymore (good ol' rust coating). Look around on ebay for the rotor/pad combo from R1 Concepts. I believe most of their rotors are zinc coated and you can get 4 rotors and all new pads for a pretty decent price. I know a couple of guys around here have the R1 Concept rotors and like them
