Exhaust Setup ?s

i own a 99 mustang(completely stock other than brakes) w/ a pretty crappy, rusted up exhaust. i wanna go w/ a dual exhaust, but first i got a few questions and parts to show you. i have a good idea of what i wanna get, but im no car expert, so im checkin w/ u guys to be 110% sure. here u go:

flowmaster force II-
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

or ford racing exhaust-
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...86+4294903646+

shorty headers-
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...80+4294902237+

or one of these-
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

which exhaust system should i go w/(ford or flowmaster)? i want a deep, loud sound and the most power as possible out of the setup. also instead of the shorty headers should i get long tube headers? which will give me more power? also i know i need to get an x-pipe. anyone know which one is good and affordable? i have about $1000 to spend on the exhaust setup and t-lok. shortly after im getting 3.73 gears(i have to drive it everyday, otherwise id get 4.10s)

Longtubes.

If you want more performance from the setup, Xpipe would be better than the Hpipe.

And you can go ahead and get 4.10s. Not a big deal. Quite a few of us have them on our DDs. =]

thank u for helping!

so heres what im gonna do:

flowmaster force II exhaust system
x-pipe
and possibly these long tubes?- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/96-20...QQcmdZViewItem would those work? it says for gt, but since im makin a dual exhaust, wouldnt it fit?

also my friend told me that a new throttle body (65mm bbk) on my 99 v6 would make me lose horsepower. is that true? or should i go ahead and buy a tb too?

i would go wit an h-pipe rather than x bc the x sound like crap on our cars...o and as for the headers those would only work for a gt

performance on our cars between x and h is nothing. An H will sound beeter and perform the same. Get the ceramic coated long tube headers and you will have to custom build a catted h-pipe for your exhaust if you have emissions. IT should cost about 50 bucks.

So I hope you were kidding about the GT headers fitting on a v6....

Anyway.
- You want long tubes
L pref mac ceramic coated ones

- You Want to do gears & tlok at the same time
L perf not to waste money on 2 installs

- You don't need an H or X pipe
L untill somebody shows you a dyno otherwise

ok well that x-pipe is made for short tubes...so it wouldn't fit the long tube headers u would b getting. o and u could do a crossover pipe like GF and save some money on the midpipe

And what is that? Where is there performance data on H and X pipes for the Essex block v6? Numbers please. Or is it just a sound thing?

well the h sounds better. I haven't honestly seen dyno sheets showing a car without then with the midpipe I would say 3-5 tops it is mainly a sound thing.

i got the custom built hpipe on my force 2 flowmaster system yesterday, they charged a 100 for it, i think i was overcharged, but hell with it, i like it and i noticed a big difference in get up and go compared to that restrictive Y pipe

ive decided on my setup, after listening to atlanticblue's, i had to get the same one

so im getting mac long tube headers, mac h-pipe, and a magnaflow catback. only difference is that mine is gonna have cats on it, cuz im in nj and they do emissions

So even though there are emissions in every state only certain states do testing for it right? B/c I'm pretty sure that Florida doesn't have tests (I lived here 5 years and I haven't had to take one) so I can go with an o/r pipe?
