Will Mach 1 exhaust fit?

I wanted to know if a Mach 1 cat-back system would fit on my '99 3.8 Of course I'd need a dual exhaust conversion (H or X pipe). I've heard of people using GT take-offs...are they the same?

Pipe size difference?

Another thing I've heard is the difference between pipe sizes. I've heard not to go above 2.5" due to not enough backpressure being put on (I only know so much about engines and exhaust). Right now, I have '99 V6 stock exhaust but with a Flowmaster muffler instead. If I'm not mistaken, the pipes are 2.25".

If I buy the Mach 1 takeoff (which has about 30k miles on it) from my friend, it has 2.5" (3" tips). Will that affect anything?

Also, what else would be necessary for conversion to dual? Would the system be enough?

the cat back with a hanger bracket for the passenger side muffler along with the tail pipe.... then get a Xpipe from RMPoutlet.com or Hpipe

Take it to a shop and have them fab you up some pipes...it will be a lot cheaper having them make it.

For a conversion to dual you can get a kit that requires welding i believe or for like $50 more you can get an xpipe/hpipe. xpipes sound raspy on 6's (from what i hear)- both give roughly same performance for our 6's. for a upgrade from single to dual you need to get two tip hangers and a passenger side muffler hanger along with the catback system. ya you don't want to have too big of a pipe diameter, 2.5's will work great, any bigger and you will get that backflow unless your engine is pushing out alot more air than stock.

OK like I said b4.......and this is not from what I heard.........get the brackets for the passenger side....get the Xpipe or H....my exhaust is not Raspy like some fucking civic...and Xpipe arent made to sound like Hpipes they are for HP......and just make sure u have good mufflers....i had stock GT ones and sounded alright.....put flowmasters on and its a whole lot better overall.....2.5s will be the biggest you wanna run...the xpipe will be 2.5 but the stock cat back may be slightly smaller...then again its not from a GT so idk if its the same size or slightly bigger but it will not be bigger then 2.5................no welding is involed period.....all you need it a jack...4jack stands....9/16s socket and open wrench...and maybe a 15mm or 5/8 socket like i needed as well for the the midpipe to the manifolds along with an extension to make it easier.....some time and maybe a helping hand....just getting the pipes over the rear is a pain in the ass since the suspension will have to be dropped if its all in one piece(the catback) or u can say F tail pipes like me and put turn downs....sounds better then out the back and screams on the street

Are you saying Xpipes are for hp like they produce a better performance? for a 6 you won't notice it, and everywhere you see where they're discussed they're called raspy imo

Size

One final thing, I swear, lol.

The Flowmaster I bought is a 2.25", will that not work with the 2.5" piping of the Mach 1 system?

Uhm if you take it to a exhaust shop or you can weld it will work, I'm sure you can get some pipe as a converter or something. I would suggest returning something for the same sizes
